Surprise Proposal at Eden Gardens in 30A, Florida

Some moments feel extra special and this was absolutely one of them. Kai and Landon hold such a meaningful place in our hearts. We have photographed them multiple times over the years, so when Landon reached out to tell us he was ready to propose, we were over the moon. Excited for them, of course, but also so honored that he wanted us there to capture such a huge chapter of their story.

Landon knew he wanted the proposal to happen somewhere truly breathtaking. A place that felt romantic, timeless, and worthy of such a big moment. Eden Gardens in 30A was the obvious choice. With its towering oak trees, winding paths, and lush florals, it felt like the perfect place.

To keep everything a total surprise, we had to get a little sneaky. We reached out to Kai and told her we wanted them to model for us for a photo session. Nothing out of the ordinary for them. We gave some outfit inspiration and made it feel like just another fun shoot together. Meanwhile, Landon had the ring tucked safely in his pocket, and we came up with a secret code word to signal when it was time. Pineapple. Simple enough, right?

Well, here is where it gets perfectly real and so very them. We said pineapple, and Landon completely forgot what that meant. On top of that, the ring box accidentally slipped right out of his pocket. Kai froze, unsure of what was happening, and Landon dropped down on one knee anyway. Despite the small chaos, or maybe because of it, the moment was unbelievably sweet. He gave her the most heartfelt speech and Kai was completely in shock. She truly did not see it coming at all!

After she said yes, the joy only grew. They immediately called their parents to share the news, smiling and laughing through happy tears. We wandered around the gardens afterward, soaking it all in and capturing engagement photos that felt relaxed, emotional, and so full of love.

Even with the little hiccup, everything worked out exactly how it was meant to. It was genuine, imperfect, emotional, and so deeply them. Moments like this are why we do what we do, and getting to witness and document this surprise proposal will forever be one of our favorites.
